If you want to see more of my blogs don't forget to subscribe on the home page. I would totally appreciate your support and it would help me get out there for more people to see my thoughts and learn to enjoy makeup as much as I do. Also follow me on Twitter @crrobb and on Instagram @cristinarobb1980 where I post about 4 times throughout the day.

Today’s look was one that I was pretty excited about because I was going to use one of my Bad Habit palettes that I got from Shop Hush. I liked how it applied and the look that I came up with and am super excited to see how it holds up. A few observations….

  • There is some definite powder and kickup in the pan

  • There is some fallout so I would recommend applying this before doing your face

  • Blend...blend...blend! The shimmers are very pigmented so you will need to blend them out and make sure to soften the edges with the matte shadows

I started with my Covergirl Lid Lock Up primer, but since the palette did not have a nude matte I set the primer with my L’Oreal pressed powder. I have been using this eye shadow primer for the last week and it is sticky and the shadows don’t blend great, so I try to set this before blending my eye look for the day. The shadow still stays on really nicely with the primer set so don’t be concerned that the primer will be ineffective if you set it. With my Revlon and e.l.f. Eye shadow primers they don’t NEED to be set because they are not as sticky on the lid although setting them is still beneficial and what I do to get the best pigment and transitions between colors. I tried my two new Wet n WIld face products today too, the bronzer in Take Me to Brazil and the highlighter in Blossom Glow. I loved both products so much! The bronzer was very subtle and smelled fantastic, and it didn’t have too much powder in the pan which I loved. I always feel like when there is too much powder in the pan when you dip your brush that it is a waste of product. I also used the new Wet n Wild Highlighter I got and I loved it. It built up nicely and I even used it as my inner corner highlight on my eyes. These two products continue to prove to me that I don’t need to use high priced/high-end products to achieve a great look with great quality stuff.

While there are still many high end brands that I would like to try out and directly compare to drugstore and lower cost brands, I find myself very content purchasing the less expensive items. If I can achieve a similar look while spending less money then I don’t mind spending a bit more time blending, building up etc because as a teacher I simply don’t have the money to justify spending on expensive makeup unless I have to. I would like to try at least one thing from brands like Urban Decay, Tarte, Becca, and Anastasia Beverly Hills to name a few that come to mind.

Eyes: Covergirl Lid Lock Up, Bad Habit Supernova Eye Shadow Palette, LA Girl Fineline Eye Liner, Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara

Face: Cover FX Blurring Primer, Essence Fresh & Fit Awake Makeup Foundation, NYX Gotcha Covered Concealer, Coty Airspun Translucent Powder, Wet n Wild Bronzer in Ticket to Brazil, Makeup Revolution Triple Baked Blush in Peachy Keen, Wet n Wild Highlighter in Blossom Glow

This look held up so well thoughtout the day! I can still see the the eye shadow and it hasn’t creased or flaked and I was still getting compliments after dismissal! I am honestly most impressed by the Wet n Wild Highlighter because it is as vivid as when I first put it on and most of the highlighters I have been using so far have not been as vibrant this late in the day. I want to get more of their highlighters!
